Three people were arrested following the execution of a narcotics related search warrant in Henry County on Tuesday. Upon execution of the warrant at 351 Pine Street four individuals were detained at the residence.
Investigators conducted a search of the residence and located several firearms along with suspected narcotics including methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana.
During the execution of the warrant investigators also observed several puppies confined within a small crate. The crate contained feces and the puppies had fleas.
The animals appeared lethargic and were found in an area filled with trash clutter and urine. Henry County Animal Services responded to the scene and the animals were removed from the residence. Henry County Animal Services will be seeking charges for inadequate care and for animals running at large.
As a result of the investigation three individuals were arrested and charged as follows:
Patrick Kevin Baker, 61 – Released on $2,500.00 secured bond
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-250 – Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-380.4 – Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
April Lynn Kump, 39- $1,000.00 Secured Bond
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-250 – Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Tommy Lee Bowers Jr, 50 – No Bond
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-250 – Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-380.4 – Possession of a firearm while in possession of a
Schedule II controlled substance
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-308.2 – Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Violation of Virginia Code Section: 18.2-311.1(B) Possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial
number
