A former employee at a juvenile detention home in Danville has been arrested for an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile. On February 10, 2026, staff at W.W. Moore, Jr. Juvenile Detention Home received a report of a possible inappropriate and unlawful relationship between an employee and a juvenile who had been in custody at the facility.
Detention home staff immediately began an administrative investigation, and the Danville Police Department was notified and initiated a criminal investigation. Before returning to work on February 11, the employee was placed on administrative leave.
Based on the initial results of the investigations, the employee was terminated the following day on February 12, 2026. The investigation revealed that between August 2022 and July 2023 employee Wendy Moyer Warren, 42, engaged in non-forcible sexual contact with a then 15-year-old male who was in custody at the W.W. Moore, Jr. Juvenile Detention Home. Warren had been employed there as a youth care worker for nine years.
On Monday, Warren was indicted and subsequently arrested without incident on two counts of Taking indecent liberties with child by person in custodial or supervisory relationship and one count of Carnal knowledge of certain minors.
