
A man that was wanted in Pittsylvania County was arrested after a standoff in Campbell County on Wednesday night. According to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, the Crisis Negotiations Team and the Special Response Team were able to safely resolve the incident and take the subject into custody without incident.
The individual has been identified as Ellis Wayne Lambert, 59, of 3564 Wards Road in Altavista. Lambert was taken into custody without incident and no weapons were found on his person at the time of the arrest.
Lambert was wanted on charges of breaking and entering and larceny in Pittsylvania County. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Altavista Police Department, Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police.
Lambert was previously arrested in connection to a shooting following an altercation between family members that occurred in Hurt in October 2025.
