
A man has been arrested after a shooting in Pittsylvania County. According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:30 am on Thursday, the Pittsylvania County Emergency 911 Center received a call about a shooting in the 200 block of Brownsville Heights Ln in the Java community.
Deputies and investigators arrived on scene to find a male subject with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was secured and taken for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition.
The suspect had fled the scene and was taken into custody after approximately two and a half hours when he turned himself into deputies and investigators on Brownsville Heights Ln without incident.
The suspect was identified as 68-year-old George Glass III of 268 Brownsville Heights Ln. This incident was considered isolated to the residence where both individuals involved knew each other and resided in the same residence.
Glass has been charged with malicious wounding, with additional charges pending further investigation. The motive for the shooting is unclear at this time.
