A member of the South Boston Police Department has been placed on leave while he’s under investigation. According to the South Boston Police Department, Corporal Dennis Blanks Jr. was placed on administrative leave on March 3.

Blanks is currently under investigation by Virginia State Police following accusations that were made against him on social media in February. Blanks was also investigated in 2022 following accusations.

In that instance the accusations were found to be unsubstantiated by Virginia State Police due to a lack of evidence and unsuccessful follow-up attempts with the person who made the accusations.

The South Boston Police Department says they can’t share any further information while the matter is under investigation.
