Yesterday the Danville Adult Detention Center proudly hosted its first-ever InsideOut Dad graduation. 18 individuals successfully completed the program, and 13 participants were joined by their families at the graduation ceremony.

The program was made possible through the support of Gary Pritchett and Danville–Pittsylvania County Community Services, whose commitment to evidence-based programming continues to positively impact our population.

InsideOut Dad® is a nationally recognized, evidence-based program that has undergone multiple independent evaluations. The program focuses on fostering responsible, pro-fathering attitudes while strengthening the knowledge and skills of incarcerated fathers.

These efforts help participants develop plans for successfully reentering the lives of their children and families upon release ultimately contributing to stronger families and a safer, healthier community.

As a correctional institution, our mission extends beyond custody and security to include rehabilitation and preparation for successful reentry. Strong, healthy family relationships are key to that success, which is why programs like InsideOut Dad® are so important.
