A juvenile was arrested on Friday following an incident in Reidsville. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, two Rockingham County Employees were assaulted while transporting a juvenile, resulting in what was reported as a hostage-type situation at Water Works Grocery, located at 1698 U.S. 29 Business in Reidsville, NC.
Deputies with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Reidsville Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, responded immediately to the scene. The juvenile was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
One Rockingham County employee sustained a minor injury, while the other was not injured. The Rockingham County Juvenile Justice and the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office have been notified of the incident. The matter remains under investigation, and more charges may be forthcoming. The Rockingham County employee and juvenile were evaluated on scene and released by Rockingham County Emergency Services.

- Larceny of Property
- Willful and Wanton Injury to Personal Property
- 2 counts-Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Interfering with Emergency Communication
- 2 counts- Threats Against Executive, Legislative, or Court Officers
- Attempted Larceny of Motor vehicle
- Attempted Breaking and Entering to Terrorize
