It’s the second month of the new year, heart and love month, time to recognize another deserving honoree. February’s WBTM/Danville Dental Associates Superstar of the Month is Tommy Barber, Battalion Chief with the Danville Lifesaving Crew and Fire Chief with the Mt. Hermon Volunteer Fire Department. My uncle, Tommy Barber, recently celebrated 35 years with the Danville Lifesaving Crew. He is the epitome of hard work and dedication, always going above and beyond for his family, students, or anyone who may need him. For example, when I graduated from Averett in May of 2024, Tommy attended on his day off and ended up “clocking-in” so to speak, to help a complete stranger who had fallen in the parking lot and broken her leg. Even though it was his day off, he assisted her until the crew arrived, showing perfectly how selfless he is. Tommy Barber is someone I consider a hero, and I along with my family never miss a chance to brag on him! We are always proud and love him so much!
We are delighted to recognize someone like Tommy or his fellow crew members, for they are indeed heroes and special members of our community. Where would we be without the men and ladies of the crew! We are so thankful for the time, training, and lifesaving skills they devote unselfishly. So Tommy Barber, Battalion Chief with the Danville Lifesaving Crew, and Fire Chief for the Mt. Hermon Fire Department…you are the WBTM/ Danville Dental Associates Superstar of the month. And our thanks to your niece, Zoe Winnes, for her letter of nomination.
