A woman was killed in a shooting in Reidsville last week. According to the Reidsville Police Department, on January 21, at 9:40 pm, officers responded to the 500 block of Carroll Street in reference to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim, identified as Ms. Chiquila Hairston, 34, suffering from a gunshot wound. Reidsville Police officers and Rockingham County EMS immediately rendered life-saving measures; however, Hairston was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of her injuries.
