Earlier this week, Danville City Council approved a special use permit to allow the operation of an indoor skate park within a proposed retail skate shop. Grind Bike & Skate is a new skate shop located at 601 Craghead St.

The approval of the special use permit will now allow the business to open an indoor skate park inside of the structure. The property is a 7,800-square-foot, two-story building consisting of two separate sections.

5,000 square feet of the building is devoted to retail use, with approximately 2,800 square feet dedicated to the indoor skate park. The park will 0perate as a fee-based use offering day passes and memberships.
