
One person was killed during a crash in Pittsylvania County on Sunday night. Virginia State Police is investigating the two-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:39 p.m. on Franklin Turnpike, at Beverly Road in Pittsylvania County.
A 2009 Harley Davidson failed to yield the right-of-way while making a left turn and was struck by a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The operator of the Harley Davidson was identified as 63-year-old James Dillard Ley, II, of Danville, Va. Ley was wearing a helmet and died enroute to the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
