HENRY COUNTY, VA — Henry County authorities seized more than $18,000 worth of drugs and four firearms after a weekend chase. Police are still looking for John Christopher Simmons of Martinsville.
Police say the 34-year-old got into a domestic argument and fired multiple shots into a car on Chatham Road in Martinsville Saturday morning.
After investigating, deputies located Simmons’s car, which led him to flee into a nearby wooded area around Lakewood Park Drive.
During a search of the vehicle he left behind, police confiscated four handguns, 3.5 ounces of cocaine, nearly three ounces of heroin, 2.5 ounces of meth, and $7,000 in cash.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $18,000.
