Job Title: Sales/Marketing Executive
Piedmont Broadcasting Corporation WAKG/WBTM in Danville, VA is looking for an energetic Sales/Marketing Executive to sell advertising to local and national clients in Danville/Pittsylvania County, VA as well as the surrounding areas of Halifax/South Boston, Martinsville/Henry County, Roxboro, Rockingham, Eden, and Reidsville, NC. This is a full-time position.
As Sales/Marketing Executive, you will develop, close, and maintain advertising accounts for the radio stations. Leads and a list of clients will be provided to get you started, but you will need to be assertive and proactive in generating your own leads through cold outreach, networking, prospecting, and prior relationships to build a steady stream of new business.
This is a perfect opportunity for a smaller-market sales superstar—a dynamic, top-notch seller with great multi-tasking skills. You will work for the best company in radio, in a city experiencing incredible growth. You’ll be selling the two top radio stations in the area plus social media platforms.
Requirements:
• Experience in selling is a plus.
• Experience with CRMs is helpful, but not required.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• A deep understanding of prospecting, appointment setting, and developing strong relationships with clients.
• Ability to listen to clients, understand their situation, and devise creative solutions to address their needs.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with clients, fellow sales professionals, and on-air talent.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass urine analysis drug test.
Responsibilities:
• Discuss initial client needs, prepare proposals, and deliver presentations.
• Log all lead activity, deals and status in our CRM daily.
• Promptly attend client meetings.
• Create sponsorship proposals.
• Develop and execute agreements between radio station operations and sponsors.
• Qualify, prospect, present, and close new accounts.
• Grow advertising revenue through both “traditional” and “non-traditional” media.
• Effectively communicate with clients and staff.
• Prepare and follow up on media schedules, production, and proposals.
• Follow up on leads in a prompt, organized, and effective manner.
• Prepare for and attend all sales meetings.
• Regularly meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
• Travel to client and prospect locations to win and/or support counts.
• Effectively identify and create solutions to help local and national business thrive in this environment by having the ability to plan, strategize, sale, execute, and deliver results.
• Other duties as required or assigned.
Compensation:
• Guarantee plus commission $50,000-$70,000+ annual salary typical.
• Earnings may be less during the sales training period.
• Occasional bonuses as deemed appropriate by the company.
