PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Intertape Polymer Group Inc. (IPG) is expanding operations at its plant in Pittsylvania County.

The company will spend about $45 million over the next four year to increase production at the local facility, adding 50 new jobs. IPG currently employs over 300 workers at its 45-acre operation in Pittsylvania County.

The company will add 30,000 square feet to its facility at 1101 Eagle Springs Road. Virginia successfully competed with Colorado, North Carolina, and Utah for the project.

Intertape is a packaging products and systems company that manufactures coatings and films. Headquartered in Montreal, Québec, and Sarasota, Florida, IPG employs about 3,500 with operations in 31 locations, including 21 manufacturing facilities in North America, four in Asia, and one in Europe.

Danville Del. Danny Marshall praised the expansion, noting this is the third economic development announcement from Intertape, with a total of $75 million invested and more than 100 workers hired since 2018.

Governor Ralph Northam approved a $150,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Pittsylvania County with the project. Intertape also received a performance-based grant of $300,000 from the Virginia Investment Performance program.
