(Pittsylvania County, Va.) – A 13-hour search ended with the arrest of a wanted man in Pittsylvania County.

Authorities were called to the 1200 block of Rockford School Road at 2:15 Wednesday morning after a caller reported that a female family member was being held at gun-point at another location.

Deputies arrived at that residence to find a frightened female inside.

The suspect, Randy Wade Francis ran from the home as deputies arrived, armed with a handgun.

A 13-hour search of the area by members of the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Halifax County K-9 team and the Virginia State Police Aviation Unit ended with the arrest of Francis without further incident.

He is being held without bond in the Pittsylvania County Jail. Francis is charged with abduction and brandishing a firearm.
