(Danville, Va.) — The Virginia Aviation Board is recommending improvements to Danville Regional Airport. At its meeting last week, the VAB said the local airstrip could receive nearly $400,000 to improve the terminal apron, noting that the tarmac is in need of repair.

The Chatham Star Tribune reports that the project is one of 30 at Virginia airports that stand to share $6.4 million in upgrades. More than two dozen state airports are included in the recommendations.

The money would be used locally to repave the tarmac and provide additional space for airplanes.
