(Chatham, Va.) — A 9-year-old boy who wandered away from the family’s home yesterday afternoon has been found safe and has been reunited with his family.

Andrew Yarboro was  located Wednesday afternoon on Strawberry Road, a little more than a mile from his home. He disappeared about 5:30 Tuesday afternoon, prompting a frantic search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The boy suffered some scratches to his back and had a swollen leg but no serious injuries. Shortly after he was located, Andrew was loaded onto an ambulance and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A woman in the neighborhood made the discovery near Union Hall Baptist Church. She walked into the woods behind her home, where she spotted Andrew near a creek.
