UPDATE: Caswell County has opened three warming stations for those without power. They are located in the Pelham, Providence and Casville Volunteer Fire Departments.

(Danville, Va.) — Danville’s streets are in good condition. Police and Public Works monitored the streets throughout the night for black ice or obvious slick areas. There were no areas reported. Streets appear clear and dry for the most part.

There also were no reports of fallen trees in the city overnight.

Power restoration efforts continue. Approximately 200 to 300 customers remain without power due to fallen trees and tree limbs that brought down lines, and in some cases, resulted in broken poles. Crews have reported Monday morning for a 16-hour shift to restore service to all customers.

The Municipal Building and all City administrative buildings are opening on regular schedules. The courthouse is open at the regular time, but the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will open at 10 a.m.

Danville Transit’s fixed-route buses are operating on regular schedules and routes. Reservation-based services – Reserve A Ride and Handivan – also are operating as usual.
