PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Two pedestrians were struck by a car in Blairs Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened on Rt. 29 near Livestock Road just after 2:30 pm.

Virginia State Police and Blairs Fire and Rescue responded. A Medflight helicopter took both patients to Sovah Health Danville. Their conditions were not available. The driver was not injured.

The wreck forced state police to close one southbound lane of traffic, which later reopened.

Meanwhile, Danville Police worked another accident at the intersection of Seminole Drive and North Main Street about two hours later. Reports from the scene indicate a truck flipped, sending two people to the hospital. The crash happened around 4:30 pm.

Both patients were taken to Sovah Health, where they were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
