DANVILLE, Va. – Danville police have filed charges after an elderly man was beaten and robbed inside the local WalMart.
The incident happened on the Mount Cross Road on Thursday. According to Danville Police, the 79-year-old victim was inside the store when he was assaulted by 43-year-old Jessie Jones of Danville. Police say Jones took the victim’s wallet before fleeing.
The victim was transported from the scene and treated for minor injuries.
Police have charged Jones with robbery and with violating the terms of his probation.
