DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police have made an arrest in a Saturday night theft from the Dollar General Store on West Main St.
The snatch-and-go robbery happened just before 9:30 p.m. The clerk tells investigators that as she was ringing up a customer, a man came behind the counter, reached into the cash drawer and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.
No weapon was displayed.
An officer reviewing surveillance footage recognized the robber as a man with ties to a home in the 100 block of Withers Cir.
A K-9 track also led to the area of the residence.
40-year-old Carl Avery Wilson was inside the home. He was arrested and was charged with robbery.
He is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
