(Danville, Va.) – Police have identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash on Monday as 42-year-old Terence Vernandez Keene of Danville.

Officers from the Danville Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Halifax Road for reports of a motorcycle crash shortly after 1 a.m.  On arrival, officers found a 2001 Suzuki that had been heading westbound when it left the roadway.

Officers began rescue efforts until members of the Danville Fire Department and the Danville Life Saving Crew arrived.  Keene was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police say he was not wearing a helmet and authorities believe alcohol was a factor.
