DANVILLE, Va. – A fire on Withers Road was brought under control quickly Saturday afternoon.

Crews from the West Main Station arrived around 12:40 p.m. to find a single story house with heavy smoke showing.  All occupants were out of the house and there were no injuries.

Firefighters put out the flames quickly. Fire, smoke and water damage was noted throughout the home.

The fire marshal determined that the fire was “electrical in nature.” Most of the damage was around the electrical panel box.

The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

17 firefighters were responded and were on the scene for three hours.
