ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – Rockingham County investigators are looking for two masked men who robbed the Family Dollar on N.C. 87 in Wentworth, N.C. Wednesday night

At around 10:20 p.m, two robbers armed with handguns entered the Family Dollar store and demanded money from the store employees. One of the robbers was wearing a camouflage hooded mask over his face and gloves. The other had a black hoodie mask covering his face and also wore gloves. Both are are believed to be African-American males.

The robbers left the store with an undisclosed amount of money in what is believed to be a small pickup truck.

This robbery is believed to be connected to a string of similar robberies in Alamance and Henry Counties.

Employees of the Danville Food Lion store in Ballou Park Shopping Center were confronted by two masked men as they closed the store around 11:30  Wednesday night. The pair forced workers back inside the store at gunpoint and ordered them to open the safe. Both fled when an alarm sounded.
