(Rockingham County, NC) – A man who had fled his supervised release program is back in custody.  Harry Moyer Willard, Jr., 65, of Summerfield was scheduled to appear in court on January 10th to face charges of Statutory Sex Offense with a Child <15 and Indecent Liberties with a Child.  He failed to appear in court.

 

As a condition of release after paying the $200,000 secure bond Willard was secured to a GPS ankle monitor.  On the day of his court case Willard cut off the device and fled his residence in Summerfield.

 

Nearly two weeks later authorities received information that Willard had returned to his residence and he was apprehended Thursday by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office.  Now in addition to the charges he had fled from Willard was served with outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear in Court (two counts) and Interfering with GPS Monitoring Device. He was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $1,025,000 secured bond.
