Virginia’s strawberry farmers report they are on track to have a great season this year. Close to 400 acres of strawberries are grown in the commonwealth. Berries are planted in the fall and are harvested beginning in May and into June. Some farmers say the season could even go beyond June this year. Last year a frost took out many blooms significantly reducing crop yields.
