Altavista Alum and Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill has raised over $28,000 for the families of the three University of Virginia football players that were murdered. Thornhill held a raffle to auction off the special cleats he wore to honor LaVel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry.
The three players were killed by Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. on Nov 13 after returning from a field trip. Thornhill also raffled off two tickets to a Chiefs playoff game and an autographed jersey. In total the raffle raised $28,374.
