(Danville, VA) – High school Seniors across the region will achieving a major milestone over the next few days. Graduation ceremonies began last night with Galileo in the gymnasium at George Washington High school. GW’s graduation is planned for 9 am Friday.

Pittsylvania County’s graduation schedule starts with Tunstall High School’s ceremony at 7pm at Averett’s North Campus. The remaining high schools will have ceremonies on Saturday beginning at 9am with Gretna, followed by Chatham at 1pm, and finishing up with Dan River High School at 6pm.

Motorists can expect congestion in and around these areas throughout the day as preparations and practices take place along with the ceremonies themselves.
