ROCKY MOUNT, VA — A brother and sister from Martinsville face charges in the shooting death of a Rocky Mount man.

Officers responded Monday night to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Bland Street in Rocky Mount.

Police arrived and found 26-year-old Tony Bruce had been shot. Bruce was taken to Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

27-year-old Kaniesha Shatae Hannon and her 28-yeara-old brother, Richard Lee Hannon Jr., were arrested around dawn Tuesday in the Axton area of Henry County.

Kaniesha faces two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. Richard faces a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Both are being held without bond at the Western Virginia Regional Jail.

Rocky Mount Police Department continues to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses and additional charges are pending.
