BASSETT, Va. – Flash flooding in Henry County damaged a business in Bassett. Cunningham was closed Monday after part of the back wall of the business collapsed Sunday night.

The business was closed at the time and there were no injuries but the owner says it will cost about $250,000 to repair the damage.

About 3 inches of rain fell in about five hours in and around Bassett on Sunday, prompting officials to declare a local state of emergency.

The town was hard hit and multiple homes on Springhouse Lane were inundated with water and mud. Several homes were destroyed.

There were no reports of injuries.
