FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says two men are in custody and face charges following a double shooting that left one man dead.

Both are charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling. Additional charges are expected.

Investigators were called about 4:30 Tuesday morning to the 100 block of Salthouse Branch Road in the Henry community. On arrival, deputies found 20-year-old Justin Prillaman dead.  His brother, 18-year-old Matthew Prillaman, survived but remains hospitalized.

Investigators have said little about the incident but neighbors say they were awakened by the sound of screeching tires followed by police sirens.

A suspect fled the scene; however, the sheriff’s department had no information about the individual or the vehicle the shooter was driving.
