DANVILLE, Va. – The driver of a car was able to walk to the ambulance after his vehicle left the road and slammed into the front of a home off Rt. 41 Wednesday morning.

Danville Police responded to the call in the 800 block Franklin Turnpike around 12:45 a.m. and found a car wedged in the entranceway to the brick rancher.

The driver was briefly trapped inside but was freed after crews cleared debris that had fallen from the home. He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room and treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.

No one inside the home was injured.
