DANVILLE, Va. – A Halifax County man died in a weekend accident on State Route 41 near Danville.

24-year-old Daniel Foster Adams of Vernon Hill was a passenger and died at the scene after the 1996 Mazda MX-6 in which he was riding veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree on the Franklin Turnpike, just north of Route 750.

Virginia State Police responded to the single-vehile wreck just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The driver, 22-year-old  Jacob T. Snead of Ringgold, was injured and transported to the hospital.

The state trooper who responded continues to investigate the wreck and says charges are pending.
