The increase of inflation is resulting in more people depending on food pantries. God’s Storehouse Executive Director Karen Harris tells ABC 13 there’s been a 17% increase of people compared to this time last year and last month there was a 27% increase. The nonprofit was able to obtain grants last year which Harris says enabled them to meet the increased demand. The recent Postal Service Stamp Out Hunger food drive resulted in the pantry receiving over 7 tons of food.
