Gov. Glenn Youngkin is urging U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to “indefinitely postpone” the implementation of the department’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for Army National Guard Troops. According to political website The Hill Youngkin says the mandate will drive away members of Virginia’s national guard at a time when it already has substantial deployments and will be deployed during hurricane season. Youngkin joins other Republican governors objecting to the mandate.
