Pittsylvania County Schools and schools across the country have seen an increase in social media threats of violent acts so far this school year. According to WSET, the Sheriff’s office has said they are committed to identifying those responsible for the recent threats.
The Sheriff’s department will be working with the Pittsylvania County Commonwealths Attorney to investigate all online threats. In the last month two juveniles have been charged after threats of violence were intercepted. The first occurred at Gretna High School on Aug 25 and the second at Tunstall High School on Sept 7.
