The Real Estate Assessment Division of the City of Danville’s Finance Department is in the process of updating its photographic database. City employees in vehicles marked “City of Danville Finance” will be driving through neighborhoods and taking photos. The employees will photograph only the public street front of a home.

Lisa Martin, division director of real estate assessment, said the office has received numerous calls from homeowners concerning the activity.

“This is not a new process,” Martin said. “We are just updating the outdated photos that we have taken in prior years.”

The updated photos also help fire and emergency responders identify the houses to which they are called, said Martin,
