The Greensboro Police Department arrested a man on March 26 with multiple firearms and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition on the North Carolina A&T University Campus. According to WFMY 2, 27-year-old Brandon Bentley made threats against law enforcement and even chased unarmed security guards.
Once Bentley was arrested, officers found two handguns, two shotguns, one rifle, a crossbow, a machete, a stun gun, hatchets, knives, choking devices, pepper spray, a blowdart gun, brass knuckles, and other weapons.
Bentley has been charged with:
- Felony having a gun on educational property
- Felony having an explosive device on educational property
- Reckless driving
- Possessing a weapon on the educational property (not a gun)
- Driving with a revoked license
- Carrying a concealed gun
Multiple students on the school’s campus told WFMY 2 that they were not alerted about a possible threat on campus. They also were not notified after the arrest until they saw it on the news.
