The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one suspect and is searching for another after an armed robbery last week. On Monday, July 17, at around 12 am, deputies were dispatched to Miller Chapel Rd. in Reidsville in response to a reported armed robbery.

Upon their arrival, deputies spoke with two male victims, who will not be identified at this time for safety reasons. The two males told deputies they had been out for a walk down the roadside when a red Cadillac stopped, and two males got out; one shot a firearm into the ground before pointing it at the victims and robbing them of their belongings.

Following an investigation and with the assistance of the Reidsville Police Department, investigators have charged Alejandro Mora Almeida, 18, of Reidsville, and Gavin Blayne Johnston, 18, of Reidsville, with robbery with a dangerous weapon and injury to personal property.
Almeida was arrested and placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Johnston is still at large and being sought by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
