The man that was arrested on Wednesday for a bank robbery in Danville is now facing drug charges in Rockingham County. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Kevin Brett Collins, of Murfreesboro, TN, was arrested after deputies spotted the blue motorcycle that he had used to leave the bank after the robbery.

Collins was apprehended while walking along the roadside of U.S. 158 East near Brooks Rd. With the assistance of Danville Police and agents from the United States ATF and the FBI, it was determined that Collins was the suspect in the bank robbery at the Carter Bank & Trust in the 900 block of S. Main St. Money taken during the bank robbery was also located in Collins’ possession. The motorcycle the suspect used during the robbery was reported stolen from Trinity, NC.

Collins was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $275,000 secured bond on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resist, Obstruct and Delay an Officer, and a Fugitive Warrant out of Virginia in connection to the bank robbery.

Collins will be extradited back to Virginia to face charges of robbery, grand larceny and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
