Two people wanted for child abduction and vehicle larceny were arrested in Henry County on Thursday. 40-year-old Gary Alverson and 35-year-old Sarah Newton were arrested after stealing a van in Eden on Wednesday with a one-year-old child in the back seat.

The child was dropped off at a residence and was unharmed. The vehicle was located shortly after at an abandoned house in Stoneville. 

Alverson and Newton were located in Henry County and taken into custody. Alverson and Newton are awaiting extradition back to Rockingham County.
