A second degree murder charge has been added for a man arrested earlier this week in Pittsylvania County. 41-year-old Charles Jermaine Pannell Jr. has now been charged with second degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Latisha Johnson.
On Saturday at 3 am, the Pittsylvania County 911 Center received a call regarding a subject that had been shot in the 500 block of Tucker Rd. in the Gretna community. Upon arrival Deputies found Johnson unresponsive with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Pannell Jr. was charged earlier this week with:
- Assault and Battery Family Member
- Shooting From a Vehicle
- Use or Display of a Firearm in Committing a Felony.
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm.
- Causing or Encouraging Acts Rendering Children Delinquent, Abused etc.
Pannell is being held under No Bond.
