Average gas prices across Virginia shot up by 47 cents this week to $3.30 a gallon, according to AAA, while the average price of gas across the county is up by 48 cents this week to $3.47.

The average price of gas in Danville rose by 46 cents this week to $3.13, while the average in Pittsylvania County climbed up by  34 cents this week to $3.10 a gallon. The average price in Martinsville is up by 44 cents this week to $3.22 a gallon and in Henry County the average price is up by 39 cents this week at $3.13 a gallon. The average price in Halifax County climbed up by 47 cents this week to $3.22 a gallon.
