Despite receiving some rain this week, all of the southside is still experiencing drought conditions. According to the lates update from the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the southside is now experiencing an extreme drought.

All of Halifax County and most of Pittsylvania County are under extreme drought conditions. Danville and Martinsville are both also under extreme drought.

Most of Henry County is also under an extreme drought, however the northwestern part of the county is under severe drought conditions.
