(Eden, N.C.)  — Eden Police responded to the scene of a homicide just after 9 p.m. Sunday. Officers were called to the Klyce Street Manor apartments at 817 Klyce Street, where they found a woman dead of a gunshot wound. Police immediately detained 23 year-old J’mes Eric Troxler of Reidsville, N.C.

Detectives with the Eden Police Department identified the victim as 25-year-old Shaquille Antionette Madison of Ridgeway, Va.

Troxler was arrested and charged in the homicide. Troxler was also charged with shooting at another individual who was not injured.

Troxler is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shaquille Madison. He was also charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

He was taken to the Rockingham County Jail, where Troxler is being held without bond. His first court appearance is set for June 12 in Rockingham County District Court.
