PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A Chatham couple is $300,000 richer after purchasing a Virginia Lottery ticket.
Lottery officials say Edward Taylor bought the winning ticket at the Food Lion at 4048 Franklin Turnpike in Danville.
He gave the ticket to his wife, Tammy, who told her husband to “mind his own business” when he took a peek at the numbers.
It turns out the Mega Crossword ticket was a grand prize winner and was worth $300,000.
According to Virginia Lottery, the odds of winning the top prize in this game are 1 in 734,400. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.43.
