Virginia is one of 4 states selected by the U.S. Treasury Department to receive funding from the Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund which will pay for broadband internet infrastructure and other digital connectivity projects. The Commonwealth is getting $219.8 million to expand last-mile broadband access to nearly 77,000 locations that lack access to high-quality broadband service. The fund was created in the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress last year.
