A woman from Bassett charged with opening fire on 4 Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies last month is denied bond. According to the Martinsville Bulletin a judge ordered a competency and sanity evaluation for the Pine Valley Road resident. Investigators say the woman began shooting when the deputies arrived then went into a wooded area and continued firing at the deputies. If convicted the woman could be sentenced from 20 years to life in prison on each charge and fined up to $100,000.
