The Virginia Department of Health announced a presumed case of monkeypox in a Northwestern region resident bringing the total number of cases to 27. Testing was conducted at the Department of General Services Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services.The patient is currently isolating. Multiple countries are currently experiencing a monkeypox outbreak. As of last Friday the CDC reported 790 cases in the United States.
