
Local firefighters rescued a driver from a 30 foot embankment during thunderstorms on Saturday. According to Gretna Fire and Rescue, units were dispatched to a traffic accident with unknown injuries, at the time of heavy thunderstorms.
Units arrived to find a single vehicle down a 30 foot embankment with the driver still inside. Personnel utilized a stokes basket, ladders, and a 3 to 1 haul system to remove the patient.
The driver was then turned over to EMS for treatment.
